My name is Vince Hodges and I am a software developer based in Vancouver, Canada. My day job is working on lots of cool things for Kinzin.com and my spare time startup is working on tools to help small groups manage finances.

While I have been professionaly employed as a software developer since 1989 my career as a software developer actually started at the age of 13, the first day of grade 8 to be exact.

Since then I have written software for systems ranging from embedded micro controllers to personal banking on commodity game consoles to web applications. I have worked in a diverse set of industries such as finance and banking, gas and oil, telephony, music sharing and now social networking.

As an 'old' guy with glasses and a beard, who knows 'C' and Unix (and Java and Ruby, but not, alas, Smalltalk), I bring a lot of knowledge and experience to the teams and projects that I work on while having the wisdom to know that there is so much more to experience and learn.
